How to make it

about 35 minutesmediumwith help from an adult160 gsm paper

  1. Colour in the turnip, Grandad, Grandma, the girl, the dog, the cat and the little mouse.
  2. Cut out the puppets along the dashed line. The white box at the bottom stays attached.
  3. Glue a lolly stick or straw onto the grey box on the back. With a bit of sticky tape over it, it's extra firm.
  4. Read the story on sheet 2 aloud. Whoever appears in the story holds up their stick puppet and pulls too.
  5. Act out the story: put the puppets in a row one behind the other and shout together: POP!

You'll also need 7 lolly sticks, straws or blunt skewers. On thick paper the puppets stand up better.
